FREDERICTON (GNB) – Following the close of nominations today, byelections will be held on Monday, Feb. 13, to fill vacancies in two wards in Valley Waters.
The local government entity in the Sussex region includes the village of Norton and the local service districts of Springfield, Norton, Upham, Kars and Wickham.
Four candidates submitted nomination papers: two for the recently created council position in Ward 2, and two to fill the vacancy in Ward 3, which remained after last November’s elections.
Advance voting for the byelections takes place on Saturday, Feb. 4.
Voters in the two wards will receive voter information cards during the last week of January, indicating where and when they are able to vote.
