FREDERICTON (GNB) – Election day for the municipal council, district education council and regional health authority board elections is Monday, May 10, with the exception of voters living in the Edmundston-Madawaska region who will vote later this month. Polling stations will be open from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m.

“I encourage all those who have not yet voted to do so on election day, so their voice can be heard in these important local elections,” said Municipal Electoral Officer Kim Poffenroth. “We ask that they bring their voter information card with them for faster service and that they wear a mask, as we want this process to go as safely as possible for voters as well as for election workers.”

Voters currently in isolation are encouraged to contact their local returning office to arrange the best way for them to vote, based upon their situation. Voters in modified isolation have the option of curbside voting on election day.

For those in the Edmundston-Madawaska region where elections were previously suspended, advance polls will take place on Saturday, May 15, and Monday, May 17. The reporting of results for all of New Brunswick will take place on Tuesday, May 25, after the polls close at 8 p.m.
