FREDERICTON (GNB) – Cards advising New Brunswickers when and where they can vote, as well as for which elections they are eligible to vote, are being mailed out by Elections NB this week.

More than 570,000 Voter Information Cards are being sent in advance of the May 9 municipal, district education council and regional health authority elections.

“We encourage voters to bring their cards with them when they go to vote as this will ensure faster service and reduce the likelihood of peak-time lineups,” said Michael Quinn, municipal electoral officer.

Eligible voters who do not receive a Voter Information Card or who do not bring it to the polling station will be diverted to a special team at each station that will check the voters list or add the person to the list if necessary.

Voters can also find voting information for their area online by visiting the Elections NB website. By using the “Search your Municipal, DEC and RHA Election Information” link, voters can quickly find the location of their polling stations, the list of candidates running within their polling division as well as contact information for the returning office in their region.
