FREDERICTON (CNB) – People hired by Elections NB to work in the upcoming municipal, district education council and regional health authority elections will be in Fredericton for training.

Municipal returning officers, election clerks and training officers will attend classroom-based training during the next two weeks.

"Having well-trained people working at our returning offices and polling stations enables us to deliver a smooth and efficient voting experience to the electors," said Michael Quinn, chief electoral officer for New Brunswick.

Elections NB expects to hire and train more than 4,900 people to work at the 530 ordinary and advance polling stations and 23 returning offices that will be set up for the May 14 elections.
